2026 PSL Season Destinations

We are headed to 5 locations for 6 events as a part of the 2026 PSL tour: Southern Oregon, UC Davis, Seattle, Langley B.C. and Port Huron. With our proprietary division format in addition to next-gen statistics in our rankings, we aim to showcase the best speedcubers in the world and produce the highest level of entertainment to the speedcubing community.

2026 PSL Championship

The winners of each event will be invited to compete in the 2026 PSL Championship, held in Las Vegas, Nevada this October. Here, a last-chance qualifier will be hosted on the same day to fill in our wild cards of the championship.

There can be up to 6 unique winners invited to the championship, however there will be scenarios where we can encounter repeat winners, which subsequently create wild card qualifications and merit qualifications. Below is a flow chart on how we determine the amount of each:

Wild Card and Merit Definitions

Below is a table that explains what it means to receive a merit qualification and wild card qualification:

Merit Qualification Wild Card Qualification
  • Determined via a vote from a professional and informed panel of expert cubers
  • Supplemented via a vote from the fans
  • Supplemented with data from PSL Season Rankings
  • Using sum of ranks for eligibility; the lower your sum of ranks statistic, the higher your championship eligibility is
  • In the case of 4 merit qualifiers being available, the 4 competitors with the lowest sum of ranks will be invited
  • In the case of a tie, best single will be used as a tie-breaker
  • In the case of a tie for best single, season mean will be used as a second tie-breaker
  • Determining factors will be weighted appropriately to account for # competitions attended and outlier skill level
  • Determined from the PSL Last-Chance Qualifiers
  • This is an open competition where invited athletes (local winners) are ineligible to participate
  • The winner of the pro divisions in the last-chance qualifier is granted entryto the PSL Championship happening same-day
  • If you are unable to make the pro division of the last-chance qualifier, we are hosting a second, lower division where you can rank up into the pro division for one more opportunity

What does this mean? It means that every solve that you complete in the 2026 PSL season has significant meaning. We are extracting every data point to see who should be rewarded for a chance to compete at our championship for our grand prize. It means that somebody watching you from home is hoping you don’t reach a certain time because that means they are knocked out of contention. It creates tension in a new form and entertainment for all.

It means if you failed your attempts at local PSL events, that you can make your way to Las Vegas for one last chance to go at the championship if you feel like you have the capability to do so. Will you be the one to rise up to the occasion and make a name for yourself in the history books?
